Funeral Celebrant FAQs:
As a Funeral Celebrant, I will be the one who organises the service itself, such as the service contents, the run order, etc.
It is not my responsibility to take care of tasks associated with a Funeral Director. This includes anything to do with the body, or booking in a ceremony location.
Yes, I would recommend it. They will help you organise elements such as acquiring a coffin or urn, booking in a ceremony location, ordering flowers, and burial.
You can ask for me to be the celebrant who runs the ceremony.
Writing a eulogy for a loved one is always going to be a difficult experience. I'd recommend being kind to yourself and taking as many breaks as needed. It may also help to write it with someone you trust and who knew them as well.
In terms of content, try reflecting on the following:
The effect they had on your life and others around them
If they did any community work or were a part of a sports team
Any especially notable achievements at work or school
If they had favourite pets, favourite movies, or favourite books
Their hopes for the future or favourite memories of the past
What you will miss most about them and where their absence will hit the hardest
Anything else on your mind?
If you have any other questions not answered above, please don't hesitate to ask.
