Naming Ceremony FAQs

A Naming Ceremony is a perfect opportunity to celebrate your little one and their entrance into your family. It can be a great time to get your family and close friends together to reveal your child's godparents, or just to generally celebrate the happy times to come with the life of your little one.

In terms of the Naming itself, this refers to explaining further why a child was given their names. Tying this connection between the lives of the parents and those who have impacted them enough to bestow their name upon their child can be a very special moment.

I'd say up to the age of 5!

There's no cutoff of course for how old or young a child should be for a Naming Ceremony, but generally most namings will happen with the child is still very young.

No - neither is it a legal ceremony.

The ceremony proceedings will be purely ceremonial, but that doesn't mean they can't be as meaningful as you'd like them to be. Rituals such as sand ceremonies or unity candle lighting can be a great moment to include other family members such as your other children, cousins, or godparents into the loving mix.
